Nigeria: Sharia Court’s Finance Registrar Arrested Over Alleged Investment of ₦35 Million Orphans’ Funds in Cryptocurrency in Kano State.

The Chief Registrar of Courts, Alhaji Abubakar Haruna Khalil, has confirmed the arrest while speaking to Premier Radio, stating that the authorities have commenced investigations to ascertain the veracity of the allegations.
Alhaji Khalil further noted that all actions to be taken would strictly follow due process of law, with a view to protecting the rights of the orphans and ensuring transparency and integrity in the administration of Sharia courts.
The investigation follows reports alleging misappropriation and unauthorized investment of public funds, a development that has drawn the attention of the body overseeing appellate Sharia courts.
